Even with specialized applications running on their computers, some people ignore the need to take a brake and rest their eyes. When the application's message comes up, they dismiss it, saying that they will only stay one more minute or their work is too important. Eyescare proposes a new method of forcing you to take a brake. As you might have observed, the name can be read "eyes care", as well as "eye scare". This is because the application will display a disturbing image on your screen every 20 minutes. If you won't take a brake for health reasons, you will take one because you will be too disgusted to look at the screen.

It should go without saying that viewer discretion is advised when it comes to Eyescare. The application is free and it works on all popular Windows platforms. It comes in a small package and it can be installed in a few moments. The hardware requirements are insignificant and there is no need to install any kind of prerequisites.

Installing Eyescare on your computer is all you have to do. Once installed, the application will run in the background and it will automatically display a disturbing image on your screen every 20 minutes. Its system tray icon doesn't reveal anything except for an option to close the application and one for an online documentation.

The application doesn't come with any kind of controls, so you can't cheat your way out of a brake. Every 20 minutes, you will either look away from your screen, to rest your eyes or endure a disgusting image, like skin afflictions or other things that may turn your stomach inside-out.

If you can't be convinced to take a brake and rest your eyes, Eyescare will force you to look away from your screen.

Pros

The application is simple and straightforward. Installing it on your computer is all you have to do.

Cons

There are no customization options. The possibility of setting up a brake frequency would be a welcomed feature.
